Parking on Main Street can always be a little tricky so if you’ve ever made the turn between Alfonso’s and Wolfgang’s looking for a spot, you’d round the bend and wind up in the unimaginatively named Lot 4. If luck is on your side and you find parking, you’ll make your way back to Main Street by way of the Vince Giardina Walkway. Up until recently, the walkway has been fairly unassuming: a few pergolas, a couple of planters, some rose bushes, and a few lights so it doesn’t seem too creepy.
To give it a refreshed look and increase the Instagram worthiness of town, Larkspur Botanicals was commissioned to give the walkway a makeover. Lindsey Neff, owner, and head designer took some time to sit down with Somerville Cover to talk about her company and the process that went into the redesign.
Using a mix of wisteria, wood, and faux flowers the display adds a pop of color and levels of texture to the pergolas that will draw the eye as a permanent installation.
Complemented by the blooming rose bushes the walkway now gives visitors a stunning display on the way to their Main Street activities.
Larkspur Botanicals is an inventive, women-led events-based floral design firm that does work throughout the tri-state area, specializing in weddings and eco-conscious floral installations. The flowers installed in the walkway will be enjoyable through all seasons for years to come.
