Cruise Night just ended. Somerville is not done with downtown nights.
Sunday, September 20, Music Fest runs from noon to six on Main Street and Division Street. Free. Live music on more than one stage. Food. Vendors. A beer garden with Village Brewing. Kids zone. Karaoke on Division when the bands wrap.
The names are already on the day. High in the Mid 80’s opens the Main Street stage at 12:30. Not Leaving Sober at 2:30. Nine Deez Nite at 4:35. Epic Soul hits Division at 1:40. School groups and local musicians take Division too. The streets the cars just left become a Sunday that stays outside until evening.
This is the town shifting seasons in public. Families. People who came for one band and stayed for the next. Shops open while the stages work. Inflatables and pony rides for the kids who do not care which decade the set list is from.
Put it on the calendar the same way you put Cruise Night on it. September 20. Noon to six. Main and Division. Bring whoever still has summer left in them.
