Monday afternoon on East Main usually means coffee and the door swinging open for whoever walks downtown. On September 14 from 2 to 4, Bliss Coffee Lounge at 14 E Main Street holds a different kind of drop-in. Somerset County Library is running a Morse code beaded bracelet craft there, teens and adults, no registration, no instructor at the front of the room.
You pick beads. You spell a short message the old way, dots and dashes made of color. The library brings the supplies and the Morse alphabet. The shop stays a shop. Purchase is not required, and they still hope people buy something while they sit.
That is the shape of it. A craft table inside a coffee place people already use. A secret on a wrist you can wear out onto Main Street afterward.
If you go, give yourself the two hours and leave room for a drink. The listing lives on the Somerset County Library site under the Somerville branch programs.
